About miniP
miniP Studio is based in Kyoto. We create 3D printing products shaped by aesthetics, material thinking, and real-world use. Our team comes from diverse backgrounds including sculpture, architecture, and materials science, with members from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music, the University of Tokyo, Keio University, and Kyoto University of the Arts.
We see 3D printing as more than just a tool for making things. To us, it is where form, material, structure, process, and aesthetics come together.
Our product development begins with real use and first-principles thinking. In 2023, inspired by 3DLAC’s adhesive spray, we began exploring our own approach to print-bed adhesion. But instead of stopping at a consumable spray solution, we kept asking a more fundamental question: could adhesion be built into the surface itself?
That question led to years of testing, refinement, and iteration, and eventually to our answer: MIRISE™ Coating — a permanent functional coating system designed to deliver strong first-layer grip, clean release, long-term durability, and a refined ultra-smooth surface.
After years of development, our first build plate for desktop FDM printers, P100, is finally ready to be shared. It is a product shaped by our aesthetic standards, our understanding of materials, and our own way of thinking about printing.
We made it because we wanted it to exist — and we believe others will feel the difference too.
P100 is the first expression of that belief — and only the beginning.
